The pre-vocational program is designed for individuals who have little or no work experience or who have not defined a career goal.  The program has three components:  counseling, volunteer placement and job coaching.

Counseling sessions are aimed at identifying interests  and employment barriers.  Modules are developed to address individual needs such as personal hygiene, professional attire and grooming, time management and stress management.  Volunteer placements allow a person to sample career choices and to gain meaningful experience in employer's expectations.  Individuals may choose from a variety of volunteer positions available through an extensive network of non-profit organizations.  Job coaching is provided at the volunteer worksite by LDA staff.
