Supportive Living Program

For individuals with disabilities who have developed basic living skills, LDA of WNY offers a Supportive Living Program.  Located on North Park Avenue in North Buffalo, the Supportive Living Program blends the best of living in a community residence with living on one's own.  North Park offers consumers a safe active business district with convenient access to public transportation.

Staffed 24 hours a day, the home has two fully equipped three-bedroom apartments each with a large communal area.  Individual residents can simulate independent living while receiving support, feedback, and training from staff.

The focus of the program is placed on enhancing the necessary basic living and social skills for the individual to achieve further independence.  There is also a strong emphasis placed on the individual's overall personal growth, including the development of natural supports and improving interpersonal relationships.  Examples of individual training offered by LDA of WNY staff include such things as financial management, health and safety, nutritional maintenance, household maintenance, time management, decision making and coping skills.
