Arts Instruction Mentoring

Individuals in the Arts Instruction Mentoring (AIM) Program train with a mentor to plan and facilitate art activities 4 days per week in the agency’s after-school program that serves teens and pre-teens with disabilities.

Participants learn the preparation and facilitation of art activities and have a weekly interactive training in subjects such as child development, positive approaches, disabilities, conflict resolution, self discovery,
and healthy living strategies to include physical activities and cooking.

The individuals in the AIM Program assist in the research and planning of art activities, ordering of supplies, set up of supplies, supporting the youth in their art making and clean up. They also have the chance to observe other afterschool programs.

Participants are well prepared for vocational opportunities after completing this training.
